We are looking for a self-starter with the desire to be a critical member of our growing team in an Agile Scrum environment. As a Cybersecurity/Information Assurance Analyst you will help ensure the security and functionality of DoD Information Systems. In this role you will work closely with the ISSO, internal technical team and customer IA team members on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation process and all guidelines and policies for proper Information Assurance and Security. You will support the team and customer with all the coordination, documentation, solutioning and continuous monitoring of our systems. This role requires you to be able to work independently and help drive work forward all while managing your own priorities and taking on additional work/responsibilities should you be required.

We need someone with strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to properly prioritize and multi-task working independently with minimal supervision. The team works in a remote setting that will require you to communicate effectively, focus and self-motivate. At various times you will be required to be on-site to support our customers at the Pentagon (Arlington, VA) in security related efforts (meetings, etc.). This will allow you to work more closely with our customers and build strong relationships. You must be able to work collaboratively with our team and remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Work independently, under minimal supervision, prioritizing your work effectively.

  • Work with our current IAO coordinating efforts across multiple customers for the Army/AF regarding security, patching, ATO approvals, RMF Packages, eMASS updates, and working with administrators on remediation efforts.

  • Assist with coordinating efforts to help resolve security findings related to installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers working with administrators.

  • Responsible for ensuring correct configurations with other administrators for system confidentiality, integrity, and availability on the development, testing and training environments and in support of production hosted customer environments.

  • Contribute to tasks related to the creation of and remediation efforts on network, application, and hosted environments to support computer systems’ security and sustainability.

  • Responsible for developing technical solutions that may require collaboration with internal expertise and deep analysis of technical systems related to Security, IA, and remediation of known findings.

  • Work with SA Leads, Technical Leads, and ISSO to ensure systems are following Cyber Security regulations and guidelines, proper documentation, and effective scanning and remediation efforts.

  • Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.

  • Work closely with internal team and customer hosting environments to ensure the implementation and validation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements for all supported commands.

  • Act independently to expose and resolve system security problems that may arise or are found in various scanning efforts.

  • Work with internal analyst and technical leads, will assist in creating, updating, and maintaining documentation including technical processes, standard operating procedures, and system/security artifacts.

  • Understand and work with existing scanning methods like HBSS, ACAS, SCAP, and efforts to remediate those findings.

  • Create, publish and maintain security related documentation for internal and project related support.

You Will Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar field a plus)

  • Approximately 2+ years of experience in an IT Security related field with a preferred background in Information Assurance and System Administration.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with implementing the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and utilizing STIG Viewer.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with the DOD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) process.

  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Required: CompTIA Security+ Certification (If not current, must be obtained within 6 months)

  • Currently US Secret Security Clearance.

  • Ability commute to the Pentagon (Arlington, VA) as needed.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Familiarity with responding to and reporting cyber incidents and events.

  • Experience with NIST Special Publication 800-53 Rev 4 (or Rev 5) Security and Privacy Controls.

  • Ability to develop and brief material to senior client leadership to support decision making.

  • Experience with AWS Cloud/VM Solutions.

  • Interest in and/or comfort with presenting to an audience a plus.

  • Interest in influencing others regarding processes and solutions.

  • Some experience working in an Agile environment.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$57,500-$117,900
