Join our innovative research and development group, where we focus on the modeling and simulation of batteries and energy systems. Our work supports groundbreaking advancements in energy technology, current efforts include an energy simulation for the US Army and Marine Corps and a mission planning application for autonomous aircraft. We are looking for a talented React Developer to join our team and lead the development and maintenance of unique cutting-edge applications.
This role requires regular visits to our customer offices in Washington D.C.
Duties:
Drive Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, designers, stakeholders, and researchers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Maintain: Ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our applications by fixing bugs, refactoring, and implementing updates.
Contribute to Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices. Conduct code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes.
Required Education and Certifications:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, or an engineering or science field preferred
Required Experience:
3-5 years’ experience in a lead role with front end software development with a focus on React/TypeScript and scientific computing applications
Technical Expertise:
Proficient in React (v18+, functional components, hooks) and Redux.
Strong knowledge of Typescript.
Experience with front-end build tools (Webpack, Vite) and automation (Gitlab CI).
Familiarity with version control systems (git).
Knowledge of REST APIs and integration with back-end applications.
Additional Skills:
Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest) and automation (Selenium).
Good understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem.
Knowledge of modern front-end development workflows and tools.
General understanding or interest in alternative energy.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent English communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Adaptability and eagerness to learn new things.
Must be able to pass a U.S. government background check. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
