*Summary *

As a Manager Communications, you will work closely with Communications and Marketing teams to research, collect information for and write editorial submissions highlighting the firm, practices, matters and individual lawyers. Publications include legal trades, national and regional business publications and industry trades. You will also be responsible for headcount surveys for regional publications.

Location

This position can be remote. However, candidates may be required on occasion to visit the local office when/if needed. Candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance to the home office and must be based in one of the following offices: Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Tampa, Miami, Boston, New York, Washington DC, Palo Alto, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, or Seattle offices.

Responsibilities

  • Leads editorial/survey submission process to include writing and submitting nominations to legal and business publications.

  • Tracks and monitors publication deadlines.

  • Maintains comprehensive calendar tracking deadlines and results.

  • Keeps pipeline (marketing managers and lawyers) apprised of progress and on pace.

  • Works with lawyers, marketing managers and other business professionals as needed to identify appropriate submissions, prioritize them, select matters, lawyers and practices to highlight.

  • Writes submissions, obtains approvals and sends to publications.

  • Receives some assistance from other communications team members, but only as needed based on volume ofwork.

  • Other duties and assignments in support of the firm and related communications initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Desired Skills

Strong writing skills a must, along with solid organizational skills and ability to assess priority and handle a variety of projects and assignments at one time in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communications skills required to interact with lawyers and business professionals on a regular basis. Must be a self-starter, team player, problem solver, detail oriented and possess strong customer service attitude. Knowledge of the law firm environment/industry a plus.

Minimum Education

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communication, Journalism or related field.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 8 years’ experience in marketing, public relations or similar field.

  • Strong writing skills a must, specifically the ability to tell a story based on sometimes disparate facts and client matters.

  • Ability to identify newsworthy issues and trends to highlight is also key to success in this position.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. 

Work Environment

  • Hybrid - Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for work-from-home

The expected annual pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $113,632 - $169,033 per year. If hired to work in San Francisco or Palo Alto the expected annual pay range is $118,573 - $176,383 per year. If hired to work in Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington, D.C., or Seattle the expected annual pay range is $108,692 - $161,684 per year. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
