About The Job

Red Hat is seeking a Managing Architect to support our North America Public Sector (NAPS) Services Solutions and Technology Practice (STP) team. As a Red Hat Managing Architect, you will be instrumental in guiding the technical direction of the NAPS Services business as well as the careers of Architects and Principal Consultants. In this role, you will build out a team of Architects and Principal Consultants that you’ll help to craft a career path for and mentor them along the way. You’ll be responsible for working with the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Resource Management Office (RMO) to build consistent delivery practices for solutions in your defined area of influence, as well as supporting the staffing of Red Hat projects. Managing Architects contribute towards customer success on project-based engagements, establishing Red Hat as the defining technology company of the 21st century built on open source principles, by providing technical oversight and support. This position is expected to have a primary focus on a solution vertical (i.e. Developer Experience, Automation) and a secondary focus on supporting a predetermined NAPS region (i.e. SLED, CIV).

This is a remote based position which may require frequent travel to customer sites and can be located anywhere within the U.S. within close proximity to an airport.

What You Will Do

At three (3) months, be prepared to manage a team of Principal Consultants and Architects by:

• Attaining in-depth knowledge of Red Hat technologies by taking Red Hat enablement and completing learning paths

• Applying Red Hat expertise and supporting the Service Delivery Lifecycle to successfully scope and deliver consulting engagements with our customers

• Begin working through Red Hat manager enablement and managing a few Principal Consultants and Architects

Within six (6) months:

• Have an in-depth understanding of how the NAPS Services business functions, including ways Managing Architects can successfully guide and influence organizational and customer strategic direction

• Proactively execute Managing Architect responsibilities, including (but not limited to) the review and approval of opportunities through PPR, support for staffing and project execution, and participate in and own the resolution of applicable escalations within assigned area(s) of responsibility (e.g., technical escalations).

• Work closely with product business, product engineering, support, and sales teams to ensure excellent customer experience with Red Hat's solutions

• Support strategic Services selling initiatives and opportunities, including executive stakeholder engagement to influence a customer’s adoption of solutions based on Red Hat technologies

• Identify and translate team priorities into actionable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that show team progress towards goals

Complete Red Hat manager enablement and continue to craft a career path and mentor Principal Consultants and Architects reporting to you

Within one (1) year:

• Lead applicable NAPS and STP initiatives and bring them to fruition for customers and Red Hatters

• Contribute lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to our internal and external communities of practice

• Develop standard frameworks and methodologies to allow for repeatable Red Hat Consulting pre-sales and projects

• Provide leadership and content towards centers of excellence and promoted standards

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a technical discipline, preferred

• Experience leading successful technical consulting engagements

• Experience in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain

• Experience with people management and building out a highly functioning team of consulting experts

• Broad and deep technical experience of Red Hat products, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Ansible, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

• Experience across FED, SI and/or SLED customers

• Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms

• Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams

• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

• Willingness to travel to customer locations up to 75% of the time

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to fulfill government contracts

The salary range for this position is $131,760.00 - $217,440.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
