Serco Military Analyst Sr (HM&E) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Position Description

This position requires to work in the Norfolk Naval Station on as required basis. Flexibility with hybrid work schedule is permitted with this position.

In this role, you will contribute to solve Fleet concerns while supporting the Surface Ship Maintenance and Modernization as a Liaison Officer (LNO) to COMBAVSURFLANT (CNSL) for Surface Ship Sustainment. This position has a direct impact on the sustainment of Naval Ships, Sailors, and the future of the Fleet. In this role, you will perform multi-faceted assignments requiring the analysis of complex systems and projects. You will utilize effective concepts and principles in the performance of a variety of projects and work directly with customers and team members to define problems, engage stakeholders, and drive solutions. You will work directly for the LHA/LHD Sustainment Manager to provide situational awareness on the decisions being made during the modernization and maintenance of LHA/LHD Class ships and provide recommendations on how to standardize decisions to improve future sustainment initiatives.

You will be an ideal candidate if you are an experienced Senior Enlisted or Surface Warfare Officer with significant Surface Ship experience. Candidates must be able to deliver impactful solutions, possess attention to detail with strong analytical skills, communicate effectively using verbal and written forms, and demonstrate initiative in employing problem-solving skills.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide direct support to the LHA / LHD Class Ship Managers for the complete life cycle (Availability) of each modernization period at ship level.

  • Provide daily support the Program Manager on new non-nuclear surface ship classes, with these representative duties.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders regarding technical, logistics, and other fleet issues and coordinate resolution of these issues.

  • Extract operational data, conduct research and conducting analysis, and present analysis up the Chain of Command, including the Flag and SES levels

  • Coordinate and participate in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.

  • Comply with security procedures and requirements.

  • Conduct analytical studies of LHA/LHD ship repair and modernization operations and use a rational basis for decision making or resource allocation.

  • Assist in preparing or coordinating the preparation of Microsoft Office based products.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders regarding technical, logistics, and other fleet issues and coordinate resolution of these issues.

  • Attend meetings, draft written reports, and provide recommendations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you must have:

  • A Secret security clearance is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5- 7 years relevant work experience.

  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

  • Experience with Navy ships and/or maintaining ship systems.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasking and represent Military and Government leaders at technical meetings.

  • Senior Enlisted or Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) / Limited Duty Officer (LDO) or GS with significant surface ship experience.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite of tools (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

  • Ability to travel 10%
