We are currently seeking a Senior Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager in the Attorney Recruiting and Development department, working under the general supervision and direction of the Firmwide Hiring Partner, Director of Attorney Recruiting, and Chief Legal Talent Officer.

The role can reside in the Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco or Washington, DC office with hybrid work capabilities and will be responsible for the execution of strategic efforts to source, recruit, and support lateral attorneys for the firm. This role is designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our lateral non-partner recruiting in our US offices. The Senior Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager is expected to serve as a positive role model and mentor, and to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors and staff.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage all non-partner lateral attorney hiring across the firm’s US offices.

  • Serve as leading resource and advisor on the firm’s lateral hiring process for recruiting team members. Develops best practices and provides guidance and recommendations to achieve positive results.

  • In connection with the Firmwide Hiring Partner and Director of Attorney Recruiting, develop hiring strategies and manage searches in support of the firm’s strategic goals.

  • Oversee and track lateral recruiting data and metrics, including benchmarking, tracking lateral submission sources and agency spending.

  • Manage firmwide search firm agreements and communicate hiring needs with agencies.

  • Oversee offer negotiation processes and offer letter preparation.

  • Manage lateral onboarding and integration processes across offices, and liaise with PGLs, HR, Business Development, Practice Management, and other firm leaders to promote a consistent and exceptional lawyer integration experience.

  • Provide regular reports regarding lateral recruiting budget, the performance of lateral hires, market trends and activity, and candidate pipelines.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Firm’s brand, markets, and global strategy.

  • Engage externally with lateral recruiting community, including attending conferences and participating in speaking engagements. Develop expertise on industry trends in the lateral hiring market. Recommend innovative lateral recruiting strategies or tools to meet our goals.

  • Participate in scheduled Attorney Recruiting & Development conference calls and meetings.

  • Partner with DEI team to develop and implement strategies to source, recruit, hire and retain diverse attorney candidates.

    Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in legal recruiting in a law firm required, with at least five years in a managerial role desired

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience in working with attorney recruiting databases required.

  • Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers; attorneys; office, firm and practice management; and outside business partners

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with specific deadlines and adjust to changing priorities in a professional manner

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to use initiative and judgment to accomplish results

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Ability to delegate and manage resources effectively
