We are looking to hire a Special Advisor - Project Analyst for one of our Department of Energy clients. The Special advisor will be responsible to provide support directly to Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) Senior Management for the establishment and stand-up of the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation (FESI). Once established, provide administrative support and coordination with the FESI Board of Directors in support of OTT’s FESI Liaison function. Responsibilities include scheduling, task tracking, communications with the FESI board and OTT Senior Management, assessing data, developing analyses, and creating reports and briefings as directed. Work closely with OTT leadership and establish working relationships with DOE and other Department personnel, including those across the National Laboratory enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist the development, coordination, and integration with the FESI and work products, to include the types of activities described below:

  • Support the FESI liaison in coordinating and organizing in-bound requests to work with FESI, developing a standardized and repeatable process to scope, diligence, and present, and enact projects between the DOE and FESI.

  • Develop agendas for, coordinate, and execute the organization of various FESI meetings and events. Record meeting minutes, obtain approval and distribute to participants.

  • Implement document management protocol to ensure all records are organized, up to date, and maintained according to federal records policies.

  • In collaboration with FESI Liaison, keep OTT Leadership cognizant on matters requiring their personal attention, providing support in formulating options as to how matters might be handled, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.

  • Develop analyses, reports, briefings, memos, presentations, and visuals that communicate the objectives and goals of various FESI commercialization initiatives, using available resources to provide context and details. As appropriate, draft letters of acknowledgement, commendations, notification, thanks, and notes to the file.

  • Support leadership in the planning, preparation, and implementation of policies and strategies for conducting technology commercialization activities in coordination and collaboration with the FESI. This would include working with a diverse group of outside stakeholders including FESI Board of Directors and their leadership team, Non-Profits, Investors, Philanthropic organizations, Private Sector Companies, DOE National Labs, and other Government Agencies.

  • Using independent research, assist stakeholders to contextualize and supplement information for presentations and briefings; vetting information and materials with management/senior staff, related stakeholders and other offices as needed.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience): Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering, physical science, social sciences, and/or economics subject area, and 3-6 years (combined) relevant experience in Philanthropy, Energy, or Commercialization.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills are a must; including the ability to clearly communicate technical and/or financial ideas and concepts to wide range of audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment. High level of comfort with multitasking and rapidly shifting priorities.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

  • Extensive proactive and resourceful communication skills, interpersonal, and analytical skills to answer questions from and help solve problems for a wide variety of people.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet commitments in timely fashion while maintaining quality of work and professional relationships.

  • Ability to read and independently interpret technical documents and translate complex information for non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to fulfill duties with minimal training from federal personnel.

  • Ability to work well with OTT and FESI stakeholder groups, avoiding any actual or perceived Conflicts of Interest.

  • Ability to interpret and follow appropriate rules, regulations, processes, and procedures of the DOE.

  • Proficiency Microsoft Suite of Programs; expert in usage of PowerPoint and Excel.

Education/Experience
