Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union Digital Media Specialist in Wasilla, Alaska

PURPOSE This hybrid position is responsible for the production of digital media that supports the areas of Membership Marketing of the Credit Union leading to improved and measurable marketing effectiveness. These responsibilities shall be performed in a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable manner to assure that the needs of the members are served and the objectives of the credit union are met.

FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for member marketing of the Credit Union and maintaining knowledge of all services offered to a degree that will enable answering questions, or referring member for specific services.
  • Produce digital media to include, but not limited to, video, audio, animation, photography, and drone shots for promotions, advertisements, public relations, research and development and member education.
  • Design and produce digital media to include, but not limited to, conceptualizing, scripting, storyboarding, recording, editing, distributing and shooting B roll.
  • Assist in monitoring social media platforms, search and respond to inquiries posted to all public forums as necessary.
  • Assist in presenting the Marketing department functions to new employees during New Employee Orientation (NEO).
  • Develop graphics for use in internal and external applications for both online and in print media.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and national agencies as required in regards to digital media production.
  • Manage and maintain digital media tools and services as needed.
  • Manage cross-functional communication and relationships between offices, partners and vendors to execute projects accurately and on-time.
  • Responsible for performance measurement, strategic planning and budgeting in cooperation with the Marketing Manager.
  • Ensure brand standards are being met across all digital media productions.
  • Research, develop and maintain digital media best practices.
  • Provide the Marketing Manager with metrics of progress and results achieved in all areas of digital media production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Requires positive, team-oriented interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with the public and with business contacts, both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record required.
  • Requires sound judgment regarding appropriate public relations practices and actions.
  • Skilled in digital graphic design, video and audio recording and print publication design.
  • Experience or training in audio/video editing tools and media distribution channels.

PREREQUISITES FOR THIS POSITION

  • Minimum Education: B.A. in digital media, film production, communications or related field or two year degree plus equivalent experience preferred. Project management certification or equivalent experience desired. Work experience in these fields may be considered in lieu of education, with two years experience substituted for each year of education.
  • Minimum Experience. Two years experience in digital media, film production and financial industry preferred. Prior experience at a credit union may be considered in lieu of six months experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Indepth knowledge of photo, audio and video terminology. Advanced understanding of graphic design and media production. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Personal Characteristics: Must be of the highest integrity and with personal habits above reproach. Must have a high degree of self-motivation, accuracy, organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to work well under pressure and against deadlines. Must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to work effectively with people of varying levels of education, experience and background. Must be able t type a minimum of 40 wpm with good computer literacy in word processing and have a working knowledge of spreadsheets. 5. Working Conditions: Continuous alertness, precision, and concentration to ensure accuracy. Continuous alertness of surroundings for security purposes. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e. robbery. This position may require extended and/or irregular hours along with some travel both local and out of state. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to drive safely on ice and other hazardous road conditions and in various nighttime conditions.
