Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor this position is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining our equipment, facility, and grounds. The role will be responsible for maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for existing equipment, managing sub-contracted maintenance work, and completing proactive facility upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently

  • Identifies root cause of unexpected machine break downs and implements preventive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime

  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines

  • Assess and test machinery and processes with efficiency and quality

  • Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary

  • Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance

  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts

  • Orders and installs replacement parts for  machines

  • Prepares reports documenting work performed

  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and maintains shop areas, parts, tools and supplies

  • Collaborates with manufacturing manager and production supervisors to add new equipment and optimize the use of existing equipment

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair

  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures

  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs

  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly

  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems

  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries

  • Other duties as assigned

    Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical or relevant degree or related work experience

  • 4+ years of work experience in industrial environments

  • Maintenance/technical experience

  • Mechanically inclined with great problem solving skills

  • Experience electrical 3 phase, motors and controls, PLCs and VFD’s, also testing equipment

  • Experience preferred but not required with overhead bridge cranes

  • Experience implementing and adhering to preventative maintenance programs while following OSHA regulations

  • Forklift maintenance experience

  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

  • 5S/Lean Manufacturing knowledge/understanding/experience

  • Great communication skills and attention to detail

  • Takes pride and ownership in their work

  • Servant-natured: understands maintenance is a customer service role within the facility

  • Experience with safety and continuous improvement projects

  • Sense of urgency

    Computer skills:

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • SAP One Experience Preferred

  • Any preventive Maintenance software desired

  • Ability to use data to drive decisions
