Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, and Neurodiagnostic Technician

Position Overview:

Join the MercyOne team as a Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, and Neurodiagnostic Specialist! In this role, you will perform critical diagnostic tests that support life-saving care, prepare detailed reports for physician interpretation, and play a vital role in improving patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities

Conduct cardiovascular testing, pulmonary diagnostics, and neurodiagnostic assessments to support patient care.

  • Record and manage patient test results in the hospital's electronic health records system.

  • Provide care tailored to diverse age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and health policies.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care.

Work Schedule

Full-Time (1.0 FTE): 80 hours per bi-weekly pay period.

  • Work every 5th weekend, with a rotating holiday schedule.

  • No on-call requirements – enjoy work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.

  • Licensure/Certification:

  • Current Iowa License or certified/registered credential in cardiovascular, pulmonary, or neurodiagnostics.

  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.

  • Mandatory Reporter certification.

  • Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular tests, pulmonary function tests, neurodiagnostic exams, or respiratory therapy preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency with patient care equipment, data management systems, and computer software.

  • Ability to work independently under pressure and with diverse patient populations.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and electric shock hazards.

  • Physical tasks include occasional lifting over 100 lbs, moderate walking, standing, and bending.

  • Frequent use of fine motor skills and repetitive hand/wrist movements.
