LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment in component districts throughout Jefferson CountyRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Assist with instruction and assessment under direction of the teacherAssist with preparing lessons and materialsEmploy effective management practices to support diverse student management needs and an environment conducive to learningEngage in continuing professional staff development activitiesQUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess:NYS Teacher Assistant CertificationBasic requirements: high school diploma or GED, Child Abuse workshop, School Violence workshop, fingerprinting clearance through NYSED, and Assessment of Teacher Assistant Skills Test (ATAS)Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematicsKnowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instructionAbility to work collaboratively as a member of a teamExcellent written and oral communication skillsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $21,000 - $21,063. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA.
