[Summary: [The estimator is a non-exempt, on-site position and is responsible for the preparation of precise cost estimates on projects for customers, dealers, and builders in a timely manner to support the sales process. - Analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
- Assist with calls from customers or dealer/builders as needed.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to assure accuracy.
- Informs immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies.
- Keep and up-to-date pricing spreadsheet which accurately reflects current and indirect cost.
- Complete and save pricing worksheets to determine the accurate price for panel system and accessory items from plans or sketches supplied by Regional Sales Managers or customer.
- Follow approved estimating practices consistent with company procedures.
- Provides complete and accurate estimates or proposals for each project.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office programs to help complete cost estimates and proposals.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Participates in Lean Manufacturing concepts.
