MaineGeneral Health Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) - Waterville, 32 hours/week in Waterville, Maine

Job Summary: MaineGeneral is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients requiring intravenous (IV) infusions in an outpatient setting. This role involves patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring, and education to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Job Description:

The Role: Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)

Provides direct patient care to patients receiving infusion therapy using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Position Highlights:

  • Monday - Friday hours 7:45a - 4:15p

  • Occasional call is required for weekends and holidays from 7a - 10a

What You'll Do:

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

  • Evaluates the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides the patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Your Qualifications:

  • Possess a current State of Maine RN license, or the ability to obtain one promptly

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an infusion clinic or similar setting

  • Strong IV and peripheral vascular access device skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in using infusion pumps and other related medical equipment
