Robert Half Indirect Tax Analyst in Watsonville, California

Description We are in need of an Entry Level Financial Analyst to work in our manufacturing division located in Watsonville, California. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing filings for indirect tax and related tax accounting for our North American operations. This role will also involve performing tasks for VAT, sales, use and excise tax, and other optimization and research. This position will provide an opportunity to develop key corporate tax skills in a large, multinational agricultural business that operates in a complex and growing corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file indirect tax filings for North American operations

• Assist in various aspects of the operations of the tax department, including VAT, sales, use and excise tax

• Conduct research and optimization tasks as required

• Collaborate with a global tax team and various finance and operations team members in the United States, Canada, and other countries

• Monitor and update tax-related records and information

• Participate in the development of corporate tax skills within a large, multinational agricultural business

• Navigate through complex and growing corporate environments while developing key skills

• Utilize skills such as Annual Tax, Annual Tax Provision, and Corporate Tax to carry out responsibilities effectively

• Adhere to all company policies and regulations regarding tax and finance. Requirements • Possess a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

• Demonstrated understanding of Annual Tax, Annual Tax Provision, Corporate Tax, and Corporate Tax Department.

• Proficiency in using financial software and spreadsheets.

• Strong analytical skills to understand financial data and detect trends.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial team members.

• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with different departments.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Knowledge of manufacturing industry is a plus.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of financial analysis and the manufacturing industry.
