Job Description Summary

Join a global engineering team utilizing advanced design tools and techniques to develop state-of-the-art Computed Tomography (CT) systems. The CT Mechanical Engineering Project Leader will drive the qualification of mobile CT trailers and systems. Mobile CT products are installed in custom trailers that can be transported between healthcare facilities, allowing greater patient access to advanced diagnostic imaging.

Primary responsibilities for the role will include (1) project management including coordination with the trailer supplier, (2) design and documentation of test plans and reports, and (3) hands-on test execution to confirm the trailer and system meet design requirements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the project management aspects of Mobile CT Trailer qualification including coordination with regional sales team, trailer supplier(s), customer, and GE HealthCare manufacturing

  • Design, execute and document testing to qualify mobile trailers. Role may also include qualification of future CT products to confirm their ability to withstand a mobile road environment

  • Hands-on test execution and data collection including vibration, thermal and acoustic

  • Basic CT system operation including system bring-up and scanning to facilitate testing

  • Management of on-site trailers for testing at GE HealthCare facility in Waukesha

  • Identification and implementation of improvement opportunities, both within the trailer qualification process/standard of work and the installation process of the system at the trailer supplier

  • Assist the engineering team in Mechanical Engineering design, prototype and testing for both New Product Introduction and Installed Base issues. This may include conceptual part design, drawings, analysis, and/or lab support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related

  • Or Associates Degree in Engineering Technology and 3 years of relevant experience

  • 3 years of experience in technical project management, design engineering, testing, or hands-on technology development

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating technical projects including supplier and manufacturing interactions

  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and implement corrections to the existing design or process

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments with outstanding quality

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with medical products, global teams, and working in a medically regulated industry

This position will need to be able to work hybrid on site at GE HealthCare facility in Waukesha, WI.
