Vanguard Cloud Engineer, Specialist in Wayne, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities:
Define and implement efficient end-to-end provisioning automation
Serves as a subject matter expert & champion for automation/orchestration
Supports existing technical service offerings with automation functionality
Identify the automation orchestration related opportunities throughout the organization
Conduct research and testing of new technologies to help solidify technical direction
Work with internal as well as external resources to achieve project goals
Skills Required:
Subject Matter Expertise with Akamai, Terraform, YAML
Strong coding and scripting:
HCL
NodeJs (GitHub Actions) or Python – both preferred
Bash
Adequate understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle principles through GitOps
Automation/Orchestration experience: Terraform, Postman, Git, Docker
Adequate technical competencies with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipeline process and technologies
Strong written and verbal skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Intricate knowledge of IT infrastructure and workflows: hardware, OS, networking, storage, databases, etc.
Strong teamwork and customer support focus
Ability to handle numerous conflicting priorities in a professional manner
Team building and problem resolution skills
Skills Preferred:
Experience with system deployment, operational considerations, and decommissioning
Experience designing workflows, especially using GitHub Actions and Workflows in GitHub Enterprise
Understanding of network provisioning and automation
Experience with load balancing and firewall technology concepts as it relates to application architecture
Monitoring and event management experience
Experience Required:
1+ years of Automation / Orchestration experience
1+ years of Windows, Unix, Linux OS experience
1+ years of scripting and/or coding experience
1+ years of GitHub Enterprise experience

Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Designs, implements, and deploys automation initiatives to support and meet business needs. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
Provides intermediate level technical support and monitors technology platforms efficiency through the use of monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms.
Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products. Reviews configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime
Trains and mentors staff and IT project teams, providing guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
Administers systems by actively managing patching, routine maintenance and backups to include the scheduling and execution of related tasks. Evaluating system performance and capacity in a large distributed infrastructure environment
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum of three years related work experience.
