Position Title: Solutions Engineer

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week

Summary of Duties: Analyze customers’ technical specifications, one-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams regarding the application of Siemens Medium Voltage switchgear products along with associated protection and control systems and design appropriate product solutions to meet customer expectations in cost-effective and timely manner. Work independently and/or lead a project team to create all documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Medium Voltage switchgears. Utilize engineering configurator software to prepare one-line drawings, control schematics, and bill of material with a high degree of accuracy. Be a technical project leader taking full ownership of the overall deliverables while guiding a team of Jr. Engineers, designers, and drafters. Provide factory support during the manufacture of projects to ensure that the final deliverable is true to design. Provide technical support to customers. 10% travel requirement to Wendell, NC. Remote work allowed.

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a

related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered, or as an Electrical Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. Alternately, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered, or as an Electrical Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation.

The position requires experience working with the design or configuration of electrical power distribution products and systems (2 years with a Bachelor’s degree or 1 year with a Master’s degree). The position requires experience with the following: Experience with standard protection and control technologies used in medium voltage power distribution; Ability to read and understand one-line and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements; Ability to create, convert, and modify drawings with AutoCAD Electrical; and Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV switchgear. 10% travel to Wendell, NC. Remote work permitted.
