Join our dynamic Cheese Application Lab Team, a crucial part of the global Dairy and Dairy Alternatives, Applied R&D team for Food & Beverage Biosolutions. Located in the North American regional application center in Milwaukee, WI, we collaborate closely with our global counterparts in France and Denmark. Our mission is to provide technical support to our customers, driving new product development and advancing technical competencies. We work daily with the Field Technical team to address customer requests, ensuring the analytical support needed to demonstrate the benefits of Novonesis ingredients. In this role, you'll make an impact by:

As a Laboratory Technician in our Cheese Application Lab Team, you will play a important role in supporting scientific research, customer support, project development, and quality testing through chemical and biological analyses. You will autonomously plan, design, and conduct simple to intermediate complexity laboratory experiments, following established methods with precision. You will be responsible for:

  • Estimating the resources and time required for experiments, collecting, preparing, and testing samples, and meticulously recording observations.

  • Preparing detailed reports with results and conclusions, demonstrating a critical understanding of the data.

  • Performing routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Executing experiments with high reliability, including conducting basic calibrations. Adherence to hygienic, cleaning, and safety protocols is essential, as is reporting any non-conformities observed during daily work.

  • Preparing and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and standardized job descriptions.

  • Utilizing digital systems and computer programs to enhance daily work and support internal and external customers is crucial.

  • Performing other tasks like keeing lab supplies and materials well-stocked and place orders as needed, regularly participate in staff and group meetings, and perform all other assigned duties. Punctuality and the willingness to work overtime as required are essential for this role. This position demands a detail-oriented individual committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional technical support and innovative solutions in the cheese industry.

    To succeed, you must hold:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Microbiology or Food Science, with Dairy Science being a plus. They should have two to three years of relevant experience. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.

  • This candidate will have a positive attitude and flexibility, demonstrating critical thinking skills and basic problem-solving abilities. They will be quality-oriented and work in a structured manner, showing an ability to give and receive feedback effectively.

  • A team-oriented mindset is crucial, along with the ability to communicate needs clearly with peers. The candidate should possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with experience in SAP and LIMS being a plus.

  • Overall, we are looking for a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also brings a collaborative spirit and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice.
