Job Description Summary

Leads a team of 4 financial managers responsible for the financial planning, reporting, analysis, and capital allocation of the Commercial Engines & Services (CES) Engineering budget that contributes to the overall business strategy and key performance indicators (KPIs). A leader that will demonstrate financial accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives associated with engineering spend.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, motivation, and technical direction to direct staff.

  • Attract, retain, and develop senior financial managers.

  • Engineering finance leader for the Commercial and Services product lines: establish a trusted financial partnership with the product line & engineering GM’s.

  • Work with the operations team to manage strategy, budget, forecasting, monthly operating reviews, and close activities.

  • Partner with program management team to develop strategy and financials for major engineering projects.

  • Establish ROI process and metrics to compete engineering investments.

  • Monitor actual engineering cost vs. plan/forecast and identify suggestions to improve profitability and cashflow.

  • Support period audits and reviews, both internal and external.

  • Use lean and automation to identify and support the implementation of process improvements for financial forecasting, planning, reporting, and systems (Clarity, CPP, Spotfire,)

  • Effectively communicate commercial & services engineering financials and objectives to senior product line and engineering leadership.

  • Perform special analysis of major issues as required and recommend solutions to complex business issues. May lead projects with cross functional teams.

  • Become an expert in engineering financial charging practices, systems, and accounting. Provide recommendations and training to operational partners as needed.

  • Work with engineering and product line teams to establish processes for the accounting, monitoring, & forecasting of external funding/reimbursements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • 6+ Year of Finance experience.
