Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an R&D Product Engineer for an end client in West Chicago, IL. This person will be responsible for supporting product designs within the innovation group of the company. This company is the top leading door manufacturer in the US. He/she will partner with key technical, manufacturing, and business partners to identify, define, coordinate, and execute on the development and testing of new residential door solutions. This role is also responsible for the coaching and mentoring of associate scientists, engineers, technicians, and contractors to deliver on the goals of the doors line of business. He/she will have support for expertise within acoustics, fire protection, and material science.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Physics, or similar field

3+ years of new product development (NPD) and research and design (R&D)

Design experience using either SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Revit, or AutoCAD

Strong analysis and testing experience: FEA analysis, vibrational analysis, thermal analysis, structural analysis, noise, or harshness (NVH)

Strong understanding of standards such as (GD&T, ASTM, ASA, INCE, WDMA, or ISO9001 Experience within the building materials industry null
