Business Intelligence Developer (hybrid)

As a Business Intelligence Developer on our world class IT team, you will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the company to craft dashboards and reports addressing key business inquiries. You will specialize in developing complex reporting solutions with an emphasis on promoting self-service reporting functionality.  Your primary focus will be on translating business needs into accessible reporting solutions for utilization across Tandigm Health. You will also analyze medical claims data, craft new reporting packages, draft specification documents, and aid in deployment, ensuring data quality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI and Tableau reports and dashboards
  • Embed Power BI widgets into web applications
  • Develop, load and maintain data models using Power Query, DAX and SQL
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data validation and quality checks
  • Configure and administer Power BI Service infrastructure, workspaces and data gateways
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver business intelligence solutions
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new features and capabilities of the Power BI platform
  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Tandigm Health's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern for each and every internal and external customer.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and design, develop, and deploy scalable reports and dashboards that provide the business insight to answer their business questions and support their goals.
  • Collaborate with other IT Teams (Enterprise Solutions & DevOps) to enhance the data sources available for reporting and improve the quality and timeliness of data refreshes.
  • Help develop and execute on the strategic Business Intelligence roadmap to leverage advanced capabilities, including more self-service and the appropriate data governance provisions, i.e., row level security.
  • Identify data related problems and solve issues with minimal direction.
  • Ability to collaborate and successfully negotiate and with colleagues with different skills and levels within the organization.
  • Participate in industry and technology conferences and events to keep current and monitor competitive applications, technologies, and other trends in the industry.
  • Comply with HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations when using and reporting PHI (Protected Health Information).
  • Uses, protects, and discloses Tandigm's patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and protects Tandigm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
  • Adheres to and responsible to abide by all information security policies, processes, and/or activities.
  • Reports security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization to management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience with the Microsoft Power BI platform
  • Proficiency in Power Query, M and DAX
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with designing and administering Power BI Service infrastructure (workspaces, data gateways, Flows, CI/ D pipelines)
  • Experience with Power BI deployment models and their implications upon available capabilities
  • Experience with import, direct query and composite models,
  • Experience with drill down based use cases on large datasets (>50 GB)
  • Experience with Power BI connectors for Big Data persistence layers (Snowflake, Synapse, Azure Blob)
  • Experience with Power BI Data Marts
  • Experience with PowerApps integration is a plus
  • Experience with data modeling and data visualization best practices, including filtering with bi-directional relationships, tabular and dimensional models
  • Experience with SQL Server, SSAS, SSRS and Snowflake
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
