VCA Veterinary Specialists of CT is looking to expand our team with the additional of a Pack Prep Veterinary Assistant.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prefer working knowledge of surgical sterilization techniques, but willing to train for the right candidate;

  • Professional behavior & appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive, friendly attitude;

  • Able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Clean surgical instruments using surgical sterilization techniques;

  • Prepare surgical packs and PPE (gloves, gowns, drapes and masks) for sterilization;

  • Properly set up and run sterilization equipment - gas sterilizer and autoclave;

  • Decontaminating and cleaning operating rooms, sterile supply room and equipment daily and after surgical procedures;

  • Maintain proper stock of surgical supplies in pack area and surgical suites

Potential Schedule: Part-Time, Sunday through Wednesday, 4 pm - 10 pm

Compensation : $18 – 20 / hr based on skill set, and experience
