Job Details The outpatient Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation and therapeutic intervention for persons with illnesses or injuries, which impede independent functioning of mobility, activities of daily living, cognitive thinking, and/or vocation. Responsibilities: Responds to physician’s treatment orders/ prescriptions in a timely fashion. Performs a thorough patient evaluation and assesses the needs of the patient. Develops an appropriate and individualized plan of care for each patient and communicates with pt. and family. Establishes realistic short and long term goals in conjunction with the patient. Goals are measurable. Progresses patients appropriately to achieve the highest potential level of function by discharge. Requirements: Education: Minimum Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy. New York State license and registration or valid temporary license. BLS Certification Skills: Occupational therapist must be able to evaluate and provide treatment interventions to patients with diagnoses ranging from simple orthopedic conditions to more complex neurological conditions. Must be able to work in a fast paced department. Positions requires ability to accurately and completely document in a timely manner utilizing the electronic medical record system EPIC. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills Experience: Experience in an outpatient setting strongly preferred but not required. Salary Range USD $41.27 - USD $61.91 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
