Ball Corporation Senior Manager, Accounting Metal Beverage in Westminster, Colorado

Primary purpose of the position:

Ensures the Beverage Packaging North and Central Americas function meets Ball Corporations overall business plans and objectives. Manages the accounting function to ensure compliance with Ball Corporations accounting policies and procedures.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Supervises 3-4 senior accountants, coordinates monthly closing tasks and ensures timely and accurate financial results

  • Coordinates month end close and related activities with other areas to ensure timely and accurate financial results

  • Reviews and approves various monthly journal entries including derivatives and accruals associated with customer contracts

  • Accounts for intercompany transactions and ensures proper elimination of sales, cost of sales and any intercompany profit in inventory

  • Coordinates process of loading financial data to corporate consolidations system and ensures data is reported accurately and agrees to source system

  • Ensures proper reporting of consolidated financial statements in accordance with company accounting policies and US GAAP

  • Reviews cashflow to ensure proper categorization of transactions for proper cashflow reporting; in addition, provide explanations in cashflow movements

  • Coordinates the preparation of quarterly disclosures for input in to the 10-Q and 10-K accurately, completely and in accordance with the timelines established

  • Assists in implementing various accounting policies and procedures for the Beverage Packaging North and Central Americas division

  • Monitors internal controls and ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley

  • Identifies accounting issues and communicates the issue timely and effectively as well as a recommendation for resolution

  • Coordinates the balance sheet fluctuation process and reviews for complete and accurate explanations

  • Reviews monthly balance sheet reconciliations for completeness and accuracy

  • Acts as primary liaison to internal and external auditors each quarter and at year-end for financial and SOX related audit requests.

  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts

  • While the regular working cycle of this position is usually five days on (Monday-Friday), this job may occasionally include working weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays (Labor Day and 4th of July); working hours may vary as specified by management

  • Performs those administrative activities necessary for effective management, including provision for selection and development of employees, setting objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the organization

  • Ability to work independently within parameters set by management

Position Requirement & Competencies:

  • Broad training in a related professional field acquired through a BS in Accounting.

  • Job related experience for 5 years minimum, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • CPA Preferred

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting, integrated manufacturing systems, preferably JD Edwards 9.1, Microsoft Office and Essbase/Smartview

  • 10-15% travel

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]

  • Hiring Salary Range: $106,100 - $161,920 (Salary to be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
