Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with high-level knowledge and experience in troubleshooting industrial electronic controls including VFDs/DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks. The role involves working on electrical, automation, and process control equipment specific to industrial conveyors, barges, e-cranes, and heavy equipment. Responsibilities include installation, programming, start-up, maintenance, and repair to improve and reduce total operating costs. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and may involve travel to sites within the greater New Orleans area.

Hard Skills

  • Troubleshooting VFDs/DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks

  • Knowledge of Ohm’s Law

  • Extensive PLC troubleshooting

  • Experience with Emerson RX3i controllers and Machine Edition software

  • Electrical preventative maintenance

  • Installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical equipment

  • Basic mechanical knowledge of drive couplings, brakes, and gearboxes

Soft Skills

  • Willingness to work extra or flexible hours

  • Openness to schedule flexibility

  • Ability to work collaboratively on modernization projects

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Westwego, Louisiana.

Work Environment

Candidates must meet 'fit for duty' requirements including a pre-employment physical and drug test. The role involves physically demanding tasks such as walking, stooping, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions. The position also requires working at heights and lifting up to 50 pounds.
