Associate Buyer/Planner - Entry Level

We are looking for a highly motivated entry level Associate Buyer/Planner to join our Supply Chain team to function as a Material Expediter. In this role you will work with both internal and external stakeholders to expedite the flow of material/parts/assemblies to ensure production schedules are met.

• Coordinate and expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production schedules.
• Review production schedules to determine material required or overdue and to locate material.
• Requisition material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
• Monitor and control movement of material and parts throughout the facility.
• Compile records to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system.
• Provide support to buyers and planners as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or High School diploma with 3 years' relevant experience)
• Experience working in a purchasing, customer service, or stockroom role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel
• Authorization to work in the US

Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

• Bachelors' degree in business or supply chain a plus
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of sourcing and supply chain concepts and techniques
• Strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience working with MRP or ERP systems
• Bias for action. Ability to recognize problems, drive resolution, and follow through to completion.
• Results-oriented. Drives to achieve both short- and long-term goals.
• Customer focused. Driven to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements Include:

• Individual will be required to remain in stationary position a majority of the time.
• The individual will need to frequently move about the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.
• Positions self to maintain files in cabinets.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so others understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• The ability to observe details at close range to ensure accuracy.
• Occasionally moves boxes or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds across office.
