JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21024 Job Title: Academic Advising Manager - College of Arts and Communication ATTENTION: The College of Arts and Communication seeks an Academic Advising Manager (AE003). The successful candidate will be responsible for the academic advising initiatives within the College of Arts and Communication and will oversee the College graduation review process. JOB DETAILS: This position will provide general advising assistance to students, faculty advisors, and academic departments and areas (including Art and Design, Communication, Media Arts and Game Development, Music, and Theatre/Dance.) The position will also serve as the main point of contact for unique student populations and issues and provide support for ongoing individual faculty and department/area group advising efforts. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Facilitate and provide support for Student Orientation, Advising, & Registration (SOAR) activities and coordinate College of Arts and --Communication (CoAC) University and College SOAR Advisors -Coordinate and facilitate CoAC Preview, Admitted Warhawk and related advising-recruitment events and activities -Oversee advisor development and training within the College -Facilitate advisee/advisor assignments and transitions -Serve as the College liaison with the Academic Advising & Exploration Center (AAEC), the University Advising Council, and campus advising leadership groups -Serve as advising liaison with the Office of Global Experiences and review and assess international course transfers and study abroad course equivalencies -Review, assess, and facilitate student registration appeals -Create and maintain online and print materials related to advising, 4-year degree plans, and time to degree, and serve as the College Navigate (student success management system) expert and coordinator -Support the Associate Dean and Associate Dean\'s Office staff and provide administrative oversight and assessment of the advising program -Provide analysis and interpretation of advising trends and best practices -Collaborate with the Associate Dean\'s office staff and other campus constituencies on advising and graduation related initiatives and serve as the College liaison with the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and the Wisconsin Academic Advising Association (WACADA) -Serve as a member of the College of Arts and Communication Administrative Council -Serve as CoAC student status examiner (College graduation examiner).Coordinate with department/area advising coordinators to review all ---College degrees for graduation o Prepare and issue Graduation Review Letters o Notify students of graduation deficiencies o Conduct and coordinate the review all College degrees for students in graduation status o Verify, and authorize all College degrees for graduation clearance o Personalize and update Academic Advising Reports o Respond to student inquiries regarding graduation status o Coordinate with department/area advising coordinators for degree verification TO ENSURE CONSIDERATION: Applications received by July 21, 2024 are ensured full consideration.
