\ Henry Industries, Inc., has a new opportunity in its Accounting Department for the position of Controller, to manage accounting activities for our company in its Wichita, KS office. This position will ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and external audits.
\ The Controller will analyze and reconcile accounts as well as develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter as well as a self-finisher and enjoy working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.\ Henry Industries, Inc. \ Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close of financial reporting, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded.
- Cash control and bank reconciliations.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Prepare PBC\'s for external audits.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Review and recommend modifications to the accounting system and procedures.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year-end close process.
- Bachelor\'s degree in accounting.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
