Entry level Electrical Engineer at the Power Engineering Division. Will work on challenging projects in heavy industrial facilities and electrical utility companies. Will collaborate with a licensed professional engineer and industry professionals to design electrical systems that comply with safety standards. Responsibilities: Work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer in a variety of projects to create the design documents for the installation of electrical switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, batteries, lighting panels, breakers, starters, motors, duct-banks, and electrical heat trace. Perform on site walk-downs at industrial facilities to evaluate existing electrical distribution equipment. Conduct electrical equipment size calculations in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Perform electrical coordination and protection analysis with electrical engineering software SKM. Perform cable pulling analysis to evaluate cable pulling tension and sidewall pressure with electrical engineering software SKM. Perform electrical derating analysis to evaluate conductor temperature and ampacity with electrical engineering software SKM. Perform electrical heat trace analysis to size equipment with electrical engineering software CompuTrace. Draft construction drawings with AutoCAD software for the installation of electrical equipment, subject to review and approval by a licensed professional engineer. Effectively communicate and collaborate with the client through the creation of construction drawings. Collaborate with a licensed professional engineer in the selection and integration of electrical equipment. Collaborate with the project manager in the preparation of project proposals, and cost estimates. Stay informed and up to date on industry standards, particularly the National Electrical Code (NEC), to ensure compliance and proficiency in the electrical design and installation practices.
