ASM Global Director of Finance - INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas

Summary:

Plans and directs all aspects of financial and accounting activities at the facility through subordinates and supervisors. Help to facilitate the optimum efficiency, maximize profits and provide exceptional customer service for INTRUST Bank Arena, Orpheum Theatre, and any standalone SAVOR accounts in the market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and ASM Global policies and procedures.

  • Monitor ASM Global compliance with all provisions of the management contracts.

  • Review all contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.

  • Review and/or prepares event settlements.

  • Review and executes all checks and deposits; reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.

  • Monitor and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed.

  • Review all purchasing of capital assets, office supplies and facility supplies.

  • Implement facility policies and goals in accordance with the management contract, client’s objectives, and corporate policy.

  • Meet with department heads to review activity, operating, and sales reports. Determine changes to the programs and/or operations and oversee implementation with the department heads.

  • Assist in the development of long-range capital plans and program objectives in accordance with the management contract and corporate policy.

  • Guarantee all codes, laws, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures are followed.

  • Prepare the annual budget and capital project budget for future repairs and improvements to the facility.

  • Prepare and send the Nightly Show Report (NSR), KPI reports, SMOR report, Flash reports and others.

  • Prepares financial statements for the Client and ASM Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, Annual Budget and Annual Report.

  • Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.

  • Coordinates preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.

  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.

  • Prepare the annual budget and capital project budget for the ASM-Global Managed INTRUST Bank Arena.

  • Prepare the annual budget and capital project budget for the ASM-Global Managed Orpheum Theatre.

  • Prepare the annual budget and capital project budget for any standalone SAVOR accounts in the market.

  • Serve as Manager on Duty at INTRUST Bank Arena as needed.

  • Position requires he ability to work at all local ASM Global venues.

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages the Finance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university

  • 5 to 7 years experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.

  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability.

  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information required.

  • Effective supervisory skills.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.

  • Remain Flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software (Peachtree/SAGE, ADP), spreadsheets and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CPA is preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hour.

  • Must have professional attitude and appearance.

  • Minimal travel required.
