The Stronger Together Café on Clay Kaserne provides quality food services that support the warfighter with flexible, efficient, and cost-effective service.

  

Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • Certified Cook with proof of certification (Gesellenbrief apprenticeship or international equivalent). Military food service experience in pay grade of E-6 or above will be credited as experience for this position.

  • Experience: Lead Cooks that have worked within the past ten (10) years, shall have five (5) years’ experience from the date of close of solicitation working in a food service operation providing cafeteria style or multi-entrée operation providing complete meal service (breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  • Experience: Two (2) years as a Lead Cook.

  • Ability to complete 4 hours of Basic Food handler training as specified per Tri Service Food Code TB Med 530 as well as additional training

Language Requirement

Speak and write English at a language proficiency equal to Level 3.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Help Plan 21-day cyclic, nutritious meal plans

  • Prepare meals to support Warrior Restaurant feeding operations: breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, supper, and take-out service

  • Prepare main-line menu items

  • Prepare short-order menu items

  • Prepare breakfast/fitness and salad bar items

  • Prepare dessert and baked goods

  • Prepare up to 2 meals a day (breakfast and lunch) for remote-site feeding using insulated food containers

  • Provide sandwich service on request

  • Help in requisitioning, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and account for Subsistence

  • Order menu items within the required lead time schedules

  • Immediately off-load, receive, store, inspect, and maintain accountability of all perishable and semi-perishable subsistence upon delivery

  • Issue and account for subsistence to support the safeguarding of perishable and semi-perishable foods

  • Perform inventory management

  • Conduct equipment operating, cleaning, and maintenance training

  • Assist with maintaining all sanitation and cleaning standards for the entire restaurant

    Please note that this opportunity is limited to individuals located near the place of performance and in Germany, preferably associated with the US Military under SOFA status, and/or Local Nationals.
