Position Title: Recruiter

PLANT LOCATION: Corporate

REPORTS TO: Learning & Development Talent Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Recruiter will work closely with the Learning & Development Talent Manager and other leaders across Paulo to identify talent shortages, develop recruiting strategies, and execute on them to attract the best talent to Paulo.

The responsibilities of the Recruiter are to ensure Paulo attracts, hires, and retains the best team members, while growing a strong talent pipeline and building our employer brand along the way.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates, makes recommendations for hire and delivers employment offers.

  • Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs.

  • Develops and updates job descriptions and job specifications.

  • Prepare and post jobs to appropriate job boards, company career page, etc.

  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.

  • Manages application/resume files and retention according to company policy.

  • Coordinates interviews with the hiring manager and follows up on the interview process status.

  • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations.

  • Sends new hire welcome emails and coordinates with the hiring manager for new hires first day.

  • Ensures the consistent use of our recruiting processes, ATS and other tools.

  • Involvement in pre-hire activities such as reviewing background checks and coordinating drug and physical appointments.

  • Attend and assist with college or other recruiting job fairs.

  • Assist and backup other team members in the Human Resources department as needed.

  • Other Duties as assigned by the Learning and Development Talent Manager.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 1+ years of recruiting experience.

  • Prior experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong decision-making and time management skills.

  • Must be extremely organized and self-motivated.

    LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED:

    Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo’s Vehicle Use Policy.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Climbing, Crawling, Crouching, Feeling, Grasping, Hearing, Kneeling, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Sitting, Standing, Stooping, Talking, Walking, Writing. Circumstances may require lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist height and moving a lateral distance of up to 300 feet.

    Mental Activities: Mental activities commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this position.

  • Must be able to meet all pre-employment requirements.

  • Must be able to grasp the concepts of heat-treating and metal finishing, computer software and other related technical information.

  • Must be able to read instructions, charts, and production paperwork.

  • Must be organized and detail oriented.

  • Must be able to apply continuous or concentrated attention for up to several hours at a time.

  • Must be able to accurately file various types of paperwork.

  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete all training and qualification programs.

  • Must be able to follow and give verbal and written directions, communicate both orally and in writing, and work closely with others.

  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percent, rate, ratio, etc.

  • Maintain confidentiality of Paulo’s proprietary and confidential data

  • Be driven to help the company on continuous improvement of plant Safety, Quality, Efficiency/Productivity, and Housekeeping goals.

  • Participate in and encourage teamwork and communication with all Paulo office and plant personnel.

  • Treat all Paulo equipment, instruments, and customer parts with care.

  • Follow all PPE guidelines and Safety Rules. Remain safety aware and report all “near miss (unsafe conditions) injury or property damage incidents.

  • Act promptly to ensure that equipment malfunctions or safety hazards are corrected.

  • Ensure good housekeeping in the work area.

  • Work without supervision to process work within the department.

  • Operate equipment to produce the maximum output possible consistent with acceptable quality.

  • Work any shift as required.

  • Work overtime as required.

    Working Conditions: Working conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this position.

  • Usually typical office conditions.

  • Occasionally required to perform functions in the shop; may be exposed to outdoor environmental conditions.

  • While working in various parts of the plant:

  • Team Member may be exposed to temperatures sufficiently high in the summer months to cause marked bodily discomfort.

  • Team Member may be exposed to temperatures sufficiently low in the winter months to cause marked bodily discomfort.

  • Team Member may be exposed to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, dust, dirt, oil, and smoke.

  • Team Member may be exposed to hazardous conditions such as chemicals and moving mechanical parts.

  • Team Member may be exposed at times to noise levels of 75-120 dbs.

    Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

    Computers, computer software (both network and software such as the Microsoft office applications) calculators, telephones, copy machine, facsimile machine, printers, paper shredder, and miscellaneous office equipment.

    Visual Acuity: Visual activities commonly associated with the performance of the functions of the job.

    Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less with the ability to adjust the eyes and bring objects into sharp focus as necessary to read, write, and do calculations. Depth perception with the ability to judge distance and space relationships necessary to climb stairs.

    Hearing Ability: Hearing activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of the job.

    Team member must be able to communicate by telephone and distinguish information received orally. Team member must be able to distinguish sounds in the office such as a telephone ringing. When in the shop, team member must be able to distinguish sounds in the shop environment, such as forklifts, machinery, warning announcements, alarms, etc.
