We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant with one of our clients in Wilsonville, Oregon. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, including performing reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and invoicing. This role requires a self-motivated attitude, the ability to run ad hoc Excel reports, and research and correct journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Handle invoicing tasks efficiently

• Assist with month-end closing procedures

• Understand the intricacies of grants to provide accurate accounting

• Run ad hoc Excel reports as required by management

• Research and correct any discrepancies in journal entries

• Use Workday and Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks

• Handle accounts payable and receivable

• Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger

• Close month-end accounts and prepare journal entries

Requirements

• Must possess 2+ years of experience in roles performing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions

• Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledge and experience with General Ledger operations required

• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain Journal Entries is necessary

• Experience with Month End Close processes

• Proficiency in using Workday software is a plus

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required

• Prior experience in a nonprofit environment is highly desirable

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
