Master Technician - Electronics Laboratory (Onsite)

ISR & Space Systems Windsor Locks is looking for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its Engineering Organization. The primary responsibility of an Electronics Laboratory Technician is to support the Research, Development & Design that is performed in the Electronics and Advanced Technologies Engineering Laboratories. The candidate must have knowledge of related industry standards, as well as the ability to adhere to department work instructions and industry best practices. They will conduct hands-on work in close coordination with Research, Development & Design Engineers in the Electronics and Advanced Technologies Engineering Laboratory to advance technologies from the proof-of-concept stage up to fully functional development prototypes.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Have J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certification or previously certified.

  • Industry experience in Aerospace and Defense, or Space-based Electronics is a plus.

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role.

  • Attentive to detail, high level of craft and workmanship required.

  • Ability to perform assembly and rework that includes soldering and bonding of PCB, and harness building with a high degree of precisions, workmanship, and quality.

  • Ability to perform PCB electrical and mechanical assembly tasks including use of pick & place and reflow oven.

  • Familiarity with the operability of common lab equipment required.

  • Familiarity with electronic circuitry and principles required.

  • Ability to execute test plans to prove-out development hardware.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics with the ability to build hardware or a test setup based on that drawing/schematic and suggest changes to engineering if required to meet the intent of the build/test.

  • The capability of building a concept or test set up by working with an engineer verbally to take his/her ideas and transform them into reality in the lab environment.

  • Candidate should be able to work in a dynamic fast paced environment while following processes and procedures.

  • Candidate must be able to stand, bend, stretch and move throughout the facility as well as wear appropriate PP&E (clean room, ESD, etc.).

  • The ability to think critically

  • Mechanical assembly and testing of hardware a plus

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

  • OR In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required

  • OR A Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and less than 2 years of relevant experience.

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 125,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
