We’re on the hunt for a seasoned Senior Beverage Designer Citrus / Lakeland FL to join our team at the freshly inaugurated Citrus Innovation Center located inLakeland, Florida.
Your Focus
As the Senior Beverage designer, you will conduct product development work, focusing mainly on the Beverage category and supporting Citrus R&D & Innovation. With your exceptional finished product knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities and sense for innovation you will provide technical services within the IFF multi-functional citrus team in our cutting-edge Citrus Innovation Center. This role requires excellent creativity, innovation, and presentation skills!
How you will Contribute
Independently run beverage design and testing, supporting R&D, Innovation, training and customer projects in the field of citrus.
Plan and run projects seamlessly integrating creativity, innovation and presentation skills to provide best in class support to IFF’s Citrus Innovation Center activities.
Display strong finished product knowledge with excellent problem-solving abilities, and you establish and guide cross-functional teams focusing on product, project or innovation developments.
Cooperate locally and globally, utilizing established internal and external Creation and Design networks to share and leverage products and techniques in the beverage category, or even beyond.
Act as a Citrus beverage subject matter expert and collaborator, training junior team members, and contribute to the Re-Master Citrus™ innovation program.
Independently navigates projects from start to finish.
Proactive in using new raw materials and advancing technology with a high-level knowledge of recipe ingredients, raw materials and their functions and utilizing IFF technology.
Develops and improves finished product formulations and demos using knowledge of industrial standards, country specific, and market requirements.
Develops others in market taste and texture differences/preferences and ensures concept/ demonstration alignment.
Identifies Flavor and Ingredient portfolios gaps and actions/addresses with appropriate expertise/resources.
Anticipates, investigates, and resolves problems related to raw materials, solutions, finished prototypes and initial scale-up procedures.
Drives usage of new technology, promoting benefits and commercial applications.
Promotes all IFF Innovation programs via pro-active usage of the entire innovation portfolio. Liaises with the Flavorist team to use new and IFF approved materials in application to offer IFF proprietary advantage.
Contributes to R&D and program initiatives.
Recognized as a liaison and collaborator to Sales, Marketing, Flavorists, Product Experience, GRA and other departments to support project execution.
Provides total solutions utilizing creative problem-solving skills.
Establishes relationship with aligned global and strategic customers.
Ensure all activities are in line with IFF policies, and Global Innovation Rules as well as safety, hygiene and efficient day-to-day operations of the Beverage laboratory and facilities. Commitment to all company policies, rules, regulations, IFF quality is an absolute must.
Short Description
Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Human Nutrition)
Preferred Master’s degree.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial food, ingredient or flavor industry.
At least 5 years’ experience in Beverage development and testing, for all beverage categories.
Experience in other food categories is considered a plus.
Excellent understanding of the specific beverage design challenges with citrus flavors.
Demonstrated leadership in innovation projects.
Experience with Beverage sensory test protocols.
Excellent English written and verbal communications, additional language are considered a plus.
Willing to travel when required by project or business needs.
Comfortable with IT Systems and Applications.
Logical, methodical and analytical thought processes.
Accuracy and attention to details with agility to adapt in changing environment.
Technical problem-solving skills with the ability to influence.
Good prioritization, planning, time management and organizing skills.
