How will you make a difference?

During the creation of the New Industrial Facilities and, later, until the end of the production ramp up, you lead with a high level of autonomy all the actions necessary to ensure a faultless start-up of the operations (layout, preparation of the assembly line, localisation and installation of the machines, localisation of components for the assembly, supply chain activities) including the ones needed to create and develop the local Industrial Organization

• In the frame of the Local Wabtec organisation, with the support of the Site’s General Management, you ensure the alignment of the manufacturing activities with the Wabtec standards, regarding:

Safety standards Quality standards Production standards

• In the frame of Maintenance activity, you manage and improve the existing organization revising maintenance strategy and related standards with the objective of optimizing the Overall Equipment Effectiveness

• In the frame of Method responsibility for process optimization and efficiency improvement.

• You maintain a constant communication with the Centers of Competence / Mother Plants for the achievement of the objectives of the Project.

• In the frame of constant improvement, you identify improvements actions, set the plans to achieve them and lead the OPS Teams in the execution phases.

What do we want to know about you?

• Higher technical education with a mechanical or mechanical-energy faculty

• Minimum 10 years of experience leading method/engineering teams; experience in maintenance activity is also requested

• Demonstrated experience in technology and assembly processes

• Experience in developing and implementing/transfers new technologies, transfer/production line projects

• Knowledge of English at the very good communicative level

• Ability to make an impact through influencing, coaching, mentoring and teaching. Ability to teach and develop team on quick improvement cycles; these quick developmental opportunities will build team confidence; in turn this will give us the ability to drastically increase our velocity of change

• Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills

• Clear thinker, able to analyse and resolve complex problems

• Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders in a matrix environment at all levels

• Established project management skills, experience documenting, planning, and stabilizing programs.

What will your typical day look like?

• Leading three industrial areas and related resources: Continuous improvement of processes already implemented, Industrial Project Management (TOT and New Investments), Maintenance Organization

• Managing standards for four difference industrial processes: welding, machining, assembly and repair and overhaul

• In the frame of TOT, with the support of local OPS team (Production, Method, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing / Sourcing), leading the Industrial P.M.s and being responsible for achieving Quality, Cost, Time objectives as specified in the Approved Industrial Initiative; tasks will include localisation of machines, set up of supply chain (phase-in / phase-out), industrial support requested for the re-sourcing of components at suppliers in the geographical area

• As part of Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for the management of the industrial investments: definition of Budget and execution of the related Projects.

• Supporting Manufacturing and Production Quality teams to achieve the key Industrial objectives (Manufacturing Capacity, Cycle Time, End of Line rejects)

• Working with Supply Chain organization to set-up standards and optimize flow of material to the manufacturing lines

• Coaching the team and convey a passion for continuous improvement of the standards animating Kaizen and 5S Workshop and, where needed, Value Stream Map sessions

• Ensuring Local standards are in line with Wabtec Transit Improvement Plan (TIP)
