General Purpose
Under general supervision ensure vegetation is controlled according to established procedures through conducting quality control tasks including inspections/audits of vegetation management work and provides data to support corrective actions, promoting continuous improvement of the vegetatoin management program.
Responsibilities
Under supervision coordinate, administer, and implement company forestry vegetation management distribution and transmission system rights-of-way through performing inspections/audits of post-work vegetation management actions (including pre-inspections and tree pruning/removal)
Plan inspections/audits to optimize efficiencies and to effectively review work of contract personnel performing line clearance vegetation management
Ensure compliance with company's vegetation management specifications through conducting inspections/audits
Implement vegetation management record keeping and workflow management processes and systems, including use of mobile data management software
Adhere to vegetation management budget elements as applicable
Appropriately allocate time and resources to effectively conduct quality control initiatives
Work closely with Company personnel to effectively administer the quality control program
Coordinate information on vegetation conditions, clearances and work quality
Administer record keeping and cost control programs
Assist with production records, maintenance history, and service interruption data for planning, and budget forecasting and allocation
Offer technical instruction to personal involved in the program: the public, government, and Operations staff and Management
Liaison with governmental agencies
Actively participate in professional arboricultural organizations, to stay abreast of the latest innovations and developments in the industry, but also to help establish the credibility of PacifiCorp's vegetation management program
Represent the company with the public, providing credibility
Requirements
ISA Certified Arborist Certification
Bachelor's degree in Vegetation Management, Forestry, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and related experience
Working knowledge of distribution line clearance practices and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations applying to vegetation management.
Thorough knowledge of current vegetation management techniques.
Thorough knowledge of applicable herbicide/pesticide regulations.
Leadership and teamwork skills to provide input into policy decisions, and to mobilize resources to produce desired business results.
Travel, including overnight travel, will be required and vary based on work area and work task.
Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Environmental and Physical
Must be able to work alone in outdoor environments year-round, conducting inspections along utility power lines by foot and vehicle in both urban and remote rural locations.
Physical demands include: long distance driving, walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven/rugged steep terrain (hills/mountainous areas), while being exposed to the outdoor factors including traffic conditions, noise, dust, and all weather conditions.
Fulfillment of job functions require physical ability and mobility be able to walk, hike (long distances in various terrains), stand, sit and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (5 to 50 lbs.); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with the public; ability to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including

ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification
Utility arboriculture-related work experience
Certified pesticide applicator's license
Experience utilizing ATVs or similar, to complete audits and surveys, as necessary.
