Position Objective:

We are in search of a skilled Machine / Equipment Set-up Setter with mechanical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail. The primary responsibility of this role is to set presses and fixtures, ensuring their proper functioning to produce products and parts that meet the high-quality standards of and satisfy customer expectations. The Machine / Equipment Set-up Setter is essential for setting dies and fixtures, as well as loading and operating presses.

To excel in this role, the Machine / Equipment Set-up Setter must collaborate effectively and respectfully with fellow ITW team members while consistently adhering to the company's safety and quality requirements, as well as industry standards.

Essential Functions :

  • Set presses and fixtures.

  • Load sheet metal coils onto presses.

  • Load stamping dies onto presses.

  • Start machine and inspect work to verify conformance of die setup to specifications.

  • Operate punch presses.

  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment.

  • Inspect products for quality assurance. Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure products are made to specification.

  • Identify any defective items and process them in accordance with established procedures.

  • Perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

  • Safely operate all shop tools and follow all company-required safety policies.

  • Attend and participate fully in training and safety sessions as assigned.

  • Comply with all regulatory, company, ISO, and departmental policies, SOPS, work instructions, and records.

  • Effectively present information with co-workers.

  • Read and comprehend complex instructions, equipment/instrumentation, assembly, mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to interpret documents such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and other written or verbal instructions.

  • Exceptional technical and mechanical knowledge with great manual dexterity/hand-eye coordination and a keen attention to detail.

  • Proven mechanical experience and aptitude.

  • A higher degree from a technical school is preferred, but not required or equivalent work experience.

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Regularly work in an environment using the required PPE.

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, crawl, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear, and lift/move/transport objects up to 50 lbs.
